Discharge was a hardcore punk band. Their album 'See Nothing, Hear Nothing, Say Nothing' from 1982 had a big influence on much of the thrash, death and black metal that was made throughout the eighties, not to mention their music and lyrics helped shape much of grindcore.

Though not as intellectual as their contemporary anarchopunk rivals The Exploited were and are still a prime influence for the hardcore punk movement.

Iggy Pop is considered to be one of the forefathers of punk. His energetic live performances have inspired thousands of singers to act crazy on stage.

If anyone ever killed punk it was GG Allin. GG took the basics of punk and took them further than anyone ever would. A nice way to put it is that punk started with Iggy Pop cutting himself open on stage and it ended with GG Allin eating feces on stage. Since his death in 1993 no one has been able to live up to GG Allins ferocious live performances.

Hated: GG Allin & The Murder Junkies documentary

This is an early music video of GG Allin, it's one of the silliest music videos I've ever seen.
